Part 1 of 3 — The Setup
Two Hotels, One Parking Lot
TownePlace Suites by Marriott (4920 Dean Martin Dr) and Home2 Suites by Hilton (4940 Dean Martin Dr) are, quite literally, next-door neighbors in the Stadium District. Same street, same walk to the game, same general price bracket. I’ve stayed at both and reviewed each on its own — TownePlace here and Home2 here — so this post pulls those two stays together into a straight side-by-side.

Part 2 of 3 — Where Each One Wins
TownePlace’s Edge: The Kitchen You’ll Actually Use
The clearest practical difference between the two is the stove. TownePlace has a real, built-in stovetop — Home2 only offers a portable burner (with a small pan) if you ask the front desk. If cooking a real meal during your stay actually matters to you, that’s the deciding factor right there. TownePlace also has the “Suite Eats” station in the lobby — free blenders, a rice cooker, a slow cooker, and board games to borrow — which nudges the whole property toward “we expect you to cook” a little harder than Home2 does.
Home2’s Edge: The Common Areas
Home2 pairs its pool with an outdoor firepit lounge and a propane BBQ area, giving it a bit more going on outside the room if you want to hang out rather than just swim. It also has 24-hour coin laundry on-site, which TownePlace’s listing doesn’t call out the same way. Check-in at Home2 was notably fast and low-pressure on our visit — no long line, no upsell.
What’s Basically a Wash
Walk time to the stadium and arena, the $20/night self-parking, the pet fee ballpark, and the free breakfast are all close enough that they shouldn’t be the reason you pick one over the other. Both are clean, quiet, newer-feeling properties — this isn’t a case of one being a clear upgrade over the other.
Part 3 of 3 — The Verdict
The Verdict: Pick by Price or Points, Not Quality
If you’re already loyal to Marriott Bonvoy or Hilton Honors, stay loyal — you won’t be giving anything up either way. If you’re not tied to a brand, check both rates for your dates first, since a $15–20/night gap is common between them depending on the calendar. Want the option to actually cook a full meal? TownePlace’s built-in stove pulls ahead. Want a slightly more social outdoor space and don’t mind a portable burner? Home2 holds its own.
