No Casino, Barely Off the Strip — Worth It?

Yes — Polo Towers has no casino, but it’s only steps off Las Vegas Boulevard, right next to the M&M’s Store. What you get instead: real space, a full kitchenette, and a rooftop pool with cabanas — without the casino noise.

Check-In: Friendly, No Pressure

The agent who checked me in was genuinely pleasant — asked if it was my first visit, and handed me a bottle of water before I’d even set my bag down. Polo Towers is a timeshare property, but there was no sales pitch at check-in. They took my name for a raffle and credited me 500 points on the spot, and that was it — no tour, no sit-down presentation. In exchange, I walked away with a free comedy show ticket at the Stratosphere, a book of Las Vegas things-to-do, and a bus route guide.

Heads up: Polo Towers is a timeshare property, but this visit didn’t come with a sales pitch — just a raffle entry and some bonus points at check-in.

The Room: A Real Studio

I stayed in a studio on the 22nd floor of the third tower — quiet and clean, with a Strip view that stretched from Aria to the Cosmopolitan. What sets it apart from a standard Strip hotel room is the kitchenette: mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and a sink with real counter space. It’s not a suite, but it lives bigger than the square footage suggests.

Closet & Storage

The closet is well laid out — a full rod of extra hangers, an in-room safe, and an ironing board tucked in, the kind of small details that make a longer stay easier.

“Fountain view gets the marketing budget. Polo Towers doesn’t try to compete with that — it just gives you the room to actually live in for a few days.”

The View: Strip From the Balcony

From the 22nd floor, Aria and the Cosmopolitan sit right in frame — a genuinely good Strip view without paying resort-level prices for it.

Part 2 of 3 — Amenities & The Rooftop

The Rooftop: The Best Part

The rooftop pool is the highlight of the property. Free cabanas, a Jacuzzi, a barbecue area, and an observation deck looking out over the Strip — open 7 AM to 10 PM. Simple setup, but well done. One thing worth flagging: there’s no lifeguard at night, so keep that in mind if you’re swimming with kids after dark.

There’s also a solid on-site fitness center, plus a Starbucks and a small market for the basics — coffee and snacks without leaving the building.

Good for Families

There’s a playground on the property, visible right from the room, and the location does a lot of the work for you — you’re walking distance to the M&M’s Store, with a Target nearby if you forgot something and an ABC Store close by for drinks, sunscreen, and T-shirts. T-Mobile Arena is walkable too — about 12 minutes door to door — which, at a lot of mega-resorts, is roughly what it takes just to walk from your room to the lobby.

Parking: Budget For It

Polo Towers no longer offers free self-parking. Self-park runs about $25/day in a large outdoor lot, booked through Metropolis or SpotHero — SpotHero is the one I’d point you toward for booking ahead. Valet is also available; I didn’t get a firm price on it, so call ahead if that’s your preference.

No Casino, But Barely Off the Strip

Worth knowing if that matters to your trip: Polo Towers doesn’t have a casino. But “off the Strip” is misleading here — you’re steps from Las Vegas Boulevard, right next to the M&M’s Store, with Aria and the Cosmopolitan in view from your balcony. If you want to gamble, you’re a short walk from any neighboring casino. If you want a quieter, non-gaming home base without giving up the location, that’s exactly what this is.

A Little History

Polo Towers has some real Strip history behind it — it was the first purpose-built high-rise timeshare in the country, opened December 29, 1992, built by Sheldon Cloobeck and his son Stephen. There’s a plaque for it in the lobby if you want to read the whole story.

Part 3 of 3 — The Verdict

The Verdict: Quiet, Practical, Steps From the Strip

Polo Towers isn’t trying to be a Strip mega-resort, and that’s the point — it’s a quiet, well-located base with real living space, a genuinely great rooftop, and a location that’s hard to beat for walkability, casino or not. Budget the extra for parking, and you’ll come out ahead.

Yes — no casino, but a quiet studio with a kitchenette, a rooftop pool with cabanas, and a location barely off the Strip.
