Check-In: Not Crowded, Friendly Agent
I checked in around 4:30 PM and the lobby wasn’t nearly as crowded as I expected for a Bellagio afternoon. The agent at the desk was friendly and got me through quickly, no attitude, no long wait — just an easy start to the stay.
The Room: Quiet, Elegant, a Pool View That Delivers
I landed on the 21st floor with a straight-on view of the pools — and it’s glorious. Waking up to that view alone makes the stay worth it.
Bellagio pushes the fountain view room hard — it’s the pricier upgrade and gets most of the marketing attention. I can’t compare it directly since this was my first time on the pool side, but I can tell you what that view actually gives you: the whole Mediterranean-style courtyard complex laid out below, gardens, topiary, the pools themselves — not a street or a parking structure. There’s something genuinely calm about looking down on that instead of the Strip traffic. It’s a completely different vibe than a standard resort-facing window, quieter and greener, and if budget matters to you, don’t assume the fountain upcharge is the only view worth having.
The room itself is quiet, elegant, and peaceful — a real contrast to the energy happening down at the pool deck. Soft neutral tones, a plush bed, and just enough space to actually relax in. Even the shades are effortless — the lightest touch and they glide shut on their own, no cords, no fuss.
Closet & Storage
The closet is well laid out — plenty of hangers, a robe, an in-room safe, and an ironing board tucked in, all the little things that make a longer stay easier.
The Bathroom: Spa-Level Details
The bathroom is where Bellagio quietly flexes. Double vanity, circular illuminated mirrors, and a genuinely spacious glass-enclosed shower with a marble tile finish that feels more spa than hotel.
The View: 21 Floors Above the Pools
This is the part I keep coming back to. From the 21st floor, the pools and the gardens lay out right below in one frame. It’s the kind of view that reminds you why Bellagio has stayed a favorite for so many of us who’ve watched this city grow up.
Part 2 of 3 — Amenities & The Pool
The Pool Deck: Open Later Than Posted
I headed down to the pool the first afternoon and ended up staying for a couple of hours — mostly parked in the hot tub, just relaxing. Officially, posted pool hours run earlier, but this section actually stayed open until 8 PM, and it made for one of my favorite parts of the stay. There’s something about watching people still enjoying the water as the sun starts to go down that felt more relaxed than the usual daytime pool scene.
Bellagio’s pool grounds don’t feel like an afterthought the way some casino pools do. Manicured gardens, stone walkways, and quiet corners tucked behind hedges and archways make the whole space feel more like a resort in Europe than something attached to the Strip.
Grounds & Gardens: Why It’s Still My Favorite
This is the part of Bellagio that keeps pulling me back after 24 years of living here. The topiary, the archways, the fountains scattered through the walkways — it’s genuinely one of the most beautiful properties on the Strip, and it doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to prove it.
Rates fluctuate a lot by season and day of the week — worth comparing a few dates before you commit.

The Verdict: Still the Best in Vegas
Easy check-in, a quiet and elegant room with a pool view that stopped me in my tracks, and pool hours that ran later than posted — Bellagio delivered on every front this stay. After 24 years of watching this town change, Bellagio is one of the few properties that has never lost the thing that made it special in the first place: the fountains, the gardens, the sheer elegance of the place.
Yes — easy check-in, a quiet 21st-floor pool view room, and a pool deck open until 8 PM. Still my favorite hotel on the Strip.
