Free parking on the Las Vegas Strip still exists, but the list is short and it keeps changing. Here’s where you can park free right now, who gets a break, and how locals do it.
Circus Circus, Fashion Show, SAHARA and Treasure Island still park free.
Locals get extra breaks at several resorts, a free rewards card unlocks Fontainebleau, and off-Strip spots like Virgin Hotels and the Rio are free.
Circus Circus, Fashion Show, SAHARA, TI
Free for guests, shoppers, diners and showgoers. TI is the most central.
Free or 3 Hours Free
Free with Nevada plates at Resorts World and The STRAT, free at Fontainebleau, and three free hours at MGM resorts and the Venetian.
Status Can Mean Free
Any Fontainebleau Rewards member parks free there. Caesars Platinum and up park free at Caesars resorts.
Reserve Ahead
Booking a garage in advance usually beats the drive-up rate.
Search SpotHeroParking on the Strip used to be free everywhere. Then the big resort companies started charging, and most of the Boulevard followed. Free parking didn’t disappear completely, though. It moved to a few specific resorts, to locals, and to rewards members, and it changes often enough that last year’s list can steer you wrong. Several locals deals changed just in the past year.
Event nights change everything. On Sphere show nights, big games and Grand Prix week in November, special event pricing usually overrides free hours and locals perks, and even the free garages can charge. Check the property’s parking page before you pull in.
Free Parking on the Strip
| Where | Who parks free |
|---|---|
| Treasure Island (TI) | Free self-parking and valet for hotel and casino guests, including people there to eat, shop or see a show. Mid-Strip, so it’s the most useful of the free garages. |
| SAHARA Las Vegas | Free for hotel and property guests, with garage entrances on Las Vegas Boulevard and Paradise Road. |
| Circus Circus | Self-parking is complimentary for guests and visitors. Valet costs extra. |
| Fashion Show mall | Free self-parking, connected to TI by a pedestrian bridge. The mall has charged on past Grand Prix weekends. |
| Casino Royale | A small free lot for hotel and casino patrons, so don’t count on a space on a busy night. |
Local tip: TI is the move for a free mid-Strip base if you’re eating, shopping or catching a show there. From there you can walk to the Venetian, Wynn and Fashion Show, and the Deuce bus runs the length of the Strip.
Free or Discounted for Nevada Residents
| Where | Locals benefit |
|---|---|
| Resorts World | Free self-parking for any car with Nevada plates |
| The STRAT | Free self-parking with Nevada plates. Hotel guests and out-of-state plates pay. |
| Fontainebleau | Free for Nevada residents, outside event blackouts |
| MGM resorts | Up to three free hours with a Nevada driver’s license, except during special events |
| Venetian and Palazzo | Three free hours with a Nevada driver’s license, except when event pricing is in effect |
Local tip: At Resorts World, your Nevada plate is your ticket. Cameras read it when you drive in and when you leave, so there’s nothing to scan or validate.
Where to scan your license
This is the part that trips locals up. At MGM resorts, scan your Nevada driver’s license at the exit gate. If you pay at a pay-on-foot kiosk instead, you lose the free hours. At the Venetian and Palazzo, it’s the reverse: scan your license at a self-parking kiosk, so do it on your way back to the car. At Fontainebleau, scan it at the exit. Resorts World and The STRAT read your Nevada plate, so there’s nothing to scan.
Rewards Cards That Get You Free Parking
Fontainebleau Rewards
This is the easiest one on the Strip. Any Fontainebleau Rewards member parks free after scanning their card, at any level, and signing up for the card is free. Everyone else gets the first hour free, and event and holiday blackouts apply.
Caesars Rewards
Caesars says parking at its Las Vegas properties is free for Caesars Rewards members at the Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars levels. That covers Caesars Palace, Paris, Horseshoe, Flamingo, The LINQ, Harrah’s, The Cromwell and Planet Hollywood. Caesars’ free weekday parking for locals was a limited-time promotion that ended in February 2026.
MGM Rewards
Higher MGM Rewards tiers include free self-parking at MGM resorts. Which tier qualifies has shifted over the years, so check your current tier benefits in the MGM Rewards app before counting on it.
Genting Rewards at Resorts World
At Resorts World, cars with Nevada plates park free, and so do Genting Rewards members at the Elite tier and above. Hotel guests and everyone else pay a daily rate.
Off-Strip Casinos: Where Locals Park
Locals rarely pay to park because the off-Strip casinos are free. Park there, then take a rideshare to wherever you’re going on the Strip.
| Where | Parking |
|---|---|
| Virgin Hotels | Free self-parking and valet, about a mile east of the Strip on Paradise Road |
| Rio | Free self-parking and valet |
| Palms | Free self-parking and valet |
| Gold Coast and the Orleans | Free self-parking |
| Palace Station | Free parking and complimentary valet |
Stay Somewhere That Doesn’t Charge
If parking fees add up on a longer trip, pick a hotel that doesn’t charge. Virgin Hotels, about a mile east of the Strip on Paradise Road, has free self-parking and valet, and a rideshare to the Strip is short.
When There’s No Free Option
For a show, game or big night out, reserving a garage ahead usually beats paying the drive-up rate at the gate.
